1. VOLADOR 42 Inches Freeride Longboard
On my list of best longboards for beginners, I have put Volador at the top because it is one of the best high-quality longboards for beginners at a reasonable rate. I bought it many years ago, its was so durable that i still have it to the date. It managed to give me exceptional outcomes with the Freeride, from sustainable materials to a long-lasting build.
The first look of this longboard made me skip my heartbeat. From stylish deck to naturalistic shape, flawless construction to elevated smoothness it has everything one could think of. In general, it is an excellent all-around choice and the ideal beginner longboard for learning the fundamentals of the sport.
The Deck
It comes with an 8-ply hard maple deck having a concave chamber with flexibility, sturdiness, and firmness. The slightly curved deck made it so easier for me to skate through the wind with little resistance, while the pointy tail helped out to catch up the speed.

Trucks and Bearings

2. Quest Rorshack 34 Inches Longboard
The second board on my list of best beginners board is the Quest Rorshack. The unique thing about this longboard is it is a cross of Quest and Rorshack which sums up the best of both giving it a finished look.
To meet the needs of new riders, Quest introduced this low-cost longboard option. It might not have all of the features you are looking for but it is a good alternative for those high-end brands and it will be sufficient for you as a beginner. First, you can try it out for a minimal sum of money and then upgrade it according to your liking.
The Deck:
The deck of this board was constructed in an artistic manner using a combination of maple and bamboo. The company has not just stopped there, along with the stylish deck, they have used high-quality components in the construction of this longboard. The company says that bamboo adds sturdiness, flexibility, and lightness to the product.
To test it I jumped or kind of bounced on the deck to check its sturdiness and it remains intact. Moreover, the Bamboo is employed in a graffiti manner which enhances the beauty of the deck. The Rorshack is only 34 inches which do not give me full control over the board as I don’t find it long enough to lock my feet.
Best suited:
It is best suited for short distances because the shortboard length forced me to use my legs more. Also, the board is only 6 pounds which is light and easy to transport while out and about. It also has a kicktail which makes it ideal for cruising and doing several tricks. I tried it on different steeps and it worked well, as it is more good at carving and taking sharp turns due to little to no flex.
The Trucks:
Now comes the trucks, it has 6 inches robust metal, reverse Kingpin trucks which are good enough to ride. They are not of high quality but as a beginner, i believe, it does not matter. When I first rode it I felt like the trucks were a bit loose which continuously made a rattle and a noisy sound. I don’t know if you guys will be experiencing it or not but if yes, tighten the trucks a bit and it will be good to go. Also, if you want to upgrade it a bit you can change the trucks according to your liking.
The Wheels:
The wheel of this longboard fits perfectly into the longboard wheel category. It has Polyurethane 70 x 51 mm wheels which have an 80A hardness rating. It will assist you in slowing down more quickly. The wheels have a shorter diameter which makes them accelerate more quickly. With the wider wheels, wheel bite was not an issue.
The Bearings:
This board comes along with ABEC 7 bearings which can withstand the speed readily. When I tried it for the first time I felt like the speed was not good enough as it made me push more because of the shorter length. But then I tighten the trucks which makes the speed triple what I experienced first. After riding it for many days straight the grip tape ripped off a bit and needed some tweaking.

Playshion Drop through longboard is another beginner-friendly longboard with a cheap price tag. It is ideal for cruising, freeriding, sliding, and freestyling.
When I go longboard shopping the first look at the board always fascinates me. When it appears to be in poor condition, it quickly makes a negative impression on me. Fortunately, this is not the case with this longboard.
Overview
Its design is aesthetically pleasing, and the color scheme and art are perfectly selected. The playshion has a 39 inches deck, which is quite good for both beginners and inexperienced riders. It is made up of maple and bamboo which gives it a sturdy look.
The weight of this cruiser is not much, making it easy to carry. The deck is slightly concave in the middle which helps my feet to grip the board and take tight turns without feeling like I am going to fall off. It isn’t overly curled, so you won’t get wheel bite when executing slides or other tricks.
Since it is a drop-through it only has a 4 inches gap between the ground and the board which makes it easy to push without bending my knees. The board is 9.1 inches wide so checking the stability is not even a question.
Also, the maple and bamboo deck can support up to 250 lbs of weight without giving you a stress-free riding experience. It does not have a kicktail but that’s not an issue because I easily popped it up off the ground.
Riding:
The push and brake riding technique will be simple to execute. This design also makes learning to longboard easier for beginners. It will also keep the center of gravity low, making it easier for you to maintain stability while riding it. With that slightly curved deck, you can easily perform some tricks like dancing, pivoting, footbrake, and walking the plank.
The Wheels:
It is equipped with 70 x 51 mm Polyurethane wheels. It has a balance of firmness and suppleness which results in a comfortable ride with precise steering. The wheels are wide enough to handle my high-speed racing with my friends without losing any speed. Sharp curves and going downhill were made easy due to these wheels.
The inner core of the wheel is soft, while the outer surface is rigid. It has a somewhat hard shell, which makes it quite durable. You will not have to worry about stability because the wheels are adequately wide. Furthermore, the wide design of the wheels will provide you with more control over the directions.
During the test, these wide wheels performed well on the streets, indoor skating rinks, and downhills. But after riding it for around 80 minutes both the wheels and trucks got a bit loose which needs to be tightened up. After that, I have great speed and maneuverability.
The Trucks:
In my test results, the cruising and carving were a breeze with 7-inch aluminum trucks. With reverse Kingpin trucks, you don’t have to worry about the shakiness because it gives the greatest stability.

Looking for an easy-to-use longboard? Don’t look any further as White Wave Bamboo is what you were looking for.
Overview
It is constructed with high-quality bamboo and weighs only 3.5 pounds which is easy to carry. This longboard is designed particularly for beginners having open edges but experienced riders can also ride it with ease.
Since it is a drop-through it only has a 4 inches gap between the ground and the board which makes it easy to push without bending my knees. The board is 9.1 inches wide so checking the stability is not even a question.
Though it is a newly emerging brand, it has such good products within a cheap price range that it fits best for novices and individuals who are just starting to learn how to longboard. In light of this, White Wave Bamboo is a high-quality longboard that is worth trying.
Not to forget that it is an emerging brand but still it has used good quality materials and aesthetic design. Unlike other common sorts who sacrifice build quality for design.
The board gives me a perfect ride with speed, stability, good turn, longevity, and comfortable foot placement. This one makes the riding a lot of fun and enjoyable. Another factor that makes it appealing is its affordable price range.
The Deck:
The deck of White Wave is appealing to the eye. It is constructed out of several layers of Bamboo and Canadian maple. While looking at the picture I thought it was laminated but when the longboard arrived its upper surface was kind of sanded which helped me grip my feet better.
The deck is 38 inches long and 9 inches wide. That means there is plenty of room available for you to have a perfect grip on the board. Also, the deck is strong enough to support heavy riders. It can easily take up a load of around 300 lbs or more. So riding with the longboard won’t be an issue if you are a heavy rider.
Trucks:
It comes with aluminum trucks that are 5 inches in diameter. The trucks are also drop-through bringing the deck much closer to the ground. It translates to maximum stability, which is important for riding downhill at high speeds.
These reverse Kingpin trucks helped me to take smooth turns, and carving was much easier. Though the trucks made noisy sounds while riding but they can be easily removed by losing them or by some lubrication.
The Bearings:
Another thing that sparks me about this longboard is Hellion ABEC 9 bearings having built-in spacers. The bearings are complemented with high rebound urethane wheels measuring 60X45 mm.
There are no questions about the speed as ABEC 9 bearings give the best speed without pushing it harder. All of these amazing features make the wheels not only fast on the pavement and the road, but also extremely durable.

The board worked well for cruising, commuting, and carving. Although I didn’t find it quite well around the steeps. The board is slightly concave which makes the ride more fun and enjoyable. You can not perform any complex stunts from this longboard. If you want to try advanced tricks then this one is not for you.

RIMABLE is one of today’s most well-known longboard brands. This RIMABLE Drop-Through board is built to go fast, they are a good source to downhill on a budget. The drop-through design helps you to lower your board’s center of mass, allowing you to skate quicker while being more stable on downhill runs.
Trying out new styles and stunts was a lot of fun with this design. It was even easier to navigate, and hitting a curb is nearly impossible. However, beginners will be able to ride and balance effectively, making learning fun.
The Deck:
The deck is undoubtedly the board’s strongest point, as it is made of a combination of 9 plies of Maple and Bamboo resulting in a strong deck. It measures 41 inches long and 9.5 inches wide. With this drop-through deck you can enjoy freeriding, cruising, downhill, and freestyle riding. One thing I liked much about this board is that even after the extended use, the color does not fade and the deck looks brand new.
Wheels:
Now comes the wheels! The company has used top-of-the-line wheels, allowing users to get the most out of this exciting sport. They were smooth and gilded without any issue at all. The wheels are certified at an 85A level and are 70X51 mm in size.
This wheel size may not be suitable for quick turns but if you are looking for a relaxing cruise or a quick ride around the town, they are ideal as they can easily glide over cracks and rougher terrain. Even at high speeds, these wheels managed to give me a stable ride.

In search of your outdoor companion, that is decked up with some amazing graphics? Then Sector 9 is what you are looking for!
This 42 inches longboard is built entirely of Bamboo. Due to its moderate bending capabilities, it is ideal for absorbing shocks, bumps encountered, and fractures throughout your long boarding.
The first moment I step up on Sector 9, I immediately felt at ease and secure. I felt compelled to give it a huge push right away. I took the board to a slope to test its speed because I was looking for a downhill board, and it turned out to be fantastic.
The Deck:
The deck has enough moving room, measuring 42 inches in length and 9 6 inches in breadth. It also has a 31 inches wheelbase, which makes it nice and steady. The robust design of the board allows novices to enjoy their ride. The deck is flexy yet springy due to its construction which is entirely Bamboo.
It has a small concave ridge between the middle of the deck’s length. The concavity didn’t get in the way when I was pushing the board, instead, it supported my feet during carving. Wheels:
The wheels are made up of high-quality urethane. Because of their size and composition, they have a rapid rolling speed and good retention of push momentum. They have a 78A rating which means they are soft enough to provide a very smooth ride without losing energy on flat surfaces.

The first thing I noticed about Atom is how well designed it is. The design on this board is appealing but straightforward. It is clean so it won’t draw unwanted notice from the casual longboard rider. The drop deck board is finished with a sleek yet basic Atom logo that gives the board a graceful appearance. Every turn and cruising will be ideal with reverse Kingpin trucks. With its excellent perimeter shape, the drop deck longboard makes riding a breeze. For some time there will be no need of adjusting the bearings but you may need one in the future. If your bearings are making sound while riding, release the nut and the striking sound will go away. The bearings are specifically protected to prevent dirt from degrading their performance over time.
The company says that the board can carry around 250 lbs but I believe if you weigh a lot and push your body every day, it could break in a few months. However, if you are only commuting on dry roads, it will last for a longer period.
